Ministry of Consolation

The Ministry of Consolation is a ministry of prayer and presence for those families who have lost a loved one.

We assist the family in planning the funeral liturgy or chapel service by helping them select the readings, music and prayers. We offer our presence to the family by attending either the funeral, wake or memorial service and each loved one is also remembered by name in prayer through our Ministry and the Our Lady’s Prayer Group. We also provide each family with a “Comfort Basket” which contains among other things, a plant, small bread and memory stones.

Feast of All Souls

On Friday, November 2, at 7:00 PM we will be celebrating All Souls Day with a special Mass in honor of our parishioners who have passed away between October8, 2017 and October 7, 2018. The names of those who have passed away during this time will be read aloud and a candle will be lit for them at the same time. The Ministry of Consolation invites you to join us for this remembrance.

All those attending the Mass are invited to bring a favorite framed photograph of your loved one (please no larger than 8x10) to be included in a memory display near the altar during the Mass. Please arrive a few minutes early for Mass so that we may include your photo within the display.

Immediately after the Mass, all are invited for light refreshments in Heimsath Hall.
